C.F. Møller Architects have progressed to the second stage of the international idea’s competition for a 45ha large masterplan in Letchworth, based on a re-imagination of the principles behind the Garden City Movement. They have been shortlisted in the competition for the first expansion of the Garden City in over a generation.
WyrdTree collaborated closely with C.F. Møller in communicating the visual design of the masterplan through a series of CGI.
The first phase of the competition attracted entries from competitors based in Australia; France; Germany; India; Iran; Italy; the Netherlands; Poland; Thailand; the United Kingdom and the United States of America. Following appraisal of the anonymous design submissions, the authors of the four short‐listed teams were identified as follows:
• EcoResponsive Environments
• CF Møller Architects UK Ltd.
• Stride Treglown
• Sarah Wigglesworth Architects
In the second phase of the competition which will run until the 12th of March the four shortlisted firms have been tasked to further develop and refine their proposals together with Garden City Heritage Foundation.
